Since the launch of the first School Safety Checklist in 2018, followed by a more detailed Manual in Year 2022, ARISE in partnership with FICCI has worked with schools, educators, policymakers, and experts to create safer, more nurturing environments for children across India. Our guiding principles and work ethics have always been to ensure that no student is left behind and our ethos has always been Student First. Commencing as a foundational checklist, this initiative has progressively developed into a structured and comprehensive manual, reflecting the evolving complexities of ensuring child safety in educational institutions.

School Safety and Child Protection Version 3.0 represents a consolidation of best practices, evidence, and legal obligations. It integrates lessons from the past decade with forward-looking approaches aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, judicial pronouncements, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. It broadens the understanding of safety to encompass digital responsibility, meaningful collaboration with parents and communities, sustained attention to wellbeing, and readiness for emergencies.
